Leave Chief Imam Out Of Your Shameful Act - Concern Muslim Youth Warn Regional Minister
A group calling itself Concern Moslem Youth of Brong Ahafo has warned its Regional Minister, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh not to drag the name of the regional Chief Imam into his “shameful act” with NPP’s Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC.
Abronye DC, known for being vocal for the cause of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was beaten to pulp over the weekend at a party meeting.
He fingered the regional minister as being behind the whole incident - but the minister has openly denied the claims accusing the Moslem community in the region of launching the attack on Abronye for raining verbal insults on their Chief Imam.
“Let me not mince words, I have no hand in whatever happened to the young man”, the regional minister stated in a release on Monday.
However, the Concerned Moslem Youth of Brong Ahafo in a statement copied to Peacefmonline.com noted that the Muslim youth are not responsible for the attack.
The group said they want an apology from the regional minister or he will face their wrath - they also described his accusations as “useless and shameful”.
“We call on Hon. Regional Minister and Jafaru Yakubu with immediate effect to retract and apologize to the office of the Regional Chief Imam for associating him to useless, lawless, unwarranted and shameful attack on Abronye DC”, the statement said.

From assaulting the National Security Coordinator of Ashanti Region, freeing of accused members of the Delta Force who were standing trial to the current beating of Kwame Baffoe a.k.a Abronye DC- the Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organizer of NPP during the weekend at Atebubu in the Brong Ahafo Region, it is glaring that the NPP is intolerant and will go every mile to perpetrate their wicked and barbaric acts when they do not agree with you.
We the members of the Concern Moslem Youth in the Brong Ahafo Region find it rather intriguing that the internal wrangling of the NPP in the Brong Ahafo Region between the Regional Youth Organiser- Abronye DC and the Regional Minister -Hon. Asomah Cheremeh because the former has accused the Regional Minister of Several acts of Corruption and thievery which the former has even petitioned the President of Ghana for the immediate removal of the Regional Minister will be left out as the causative agent which has triggered the physical thuggery attack on Abronye DC but rather, a fictitious claim by the leader of the Hon. Regional Minister's boys who attacked Abronye DC-Yakubu Jafaru that , their nefarious act is as a results of insults by Abronye DC at the person of the Brong Regional Chief Imam-Sunyani.
Both Yakubu and his boss Hon. Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh claimed Abronye DC was attacked because Abronye was heard on radio claiming the Regional Chief Imam has consumed bottles of Coca-Cola to an amount of 16,000.00 Ghana cedis.
Speaking to a close relation to the office of the Regional Chief Imam, he explained that, it is a fact Abrobye DC made such an assertion on radio but on checks from an audit report depicts that the claim of Abronye DC is unfounded hence his claims should be retracted and an unqualified apology rendered to the office of the Regional Chief Imam of BA. The BA NPP Council of Elders met with the Chief Imam's officers pending a conclusion on the matter.
Lo and behold, BA NPP Youth Organizer was attacked by known hoodlums of NPP and the hoodlums and their boss BA Regional Minister, Hon. Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh will turn round and lie to the good people of BA and Ghana as a whole that it happened to sympathize with the BA Chief Imam.
The Hon. Regional Minister and his Boys should say this to the marines. One do not need the intelligence of a rocket scientist to realize that they are telling Ghanaians cooked and served lies because there is no single correlation between their claim and the reality. In any case, is Jafaru Yakubu known to the Regional Chief Imam and vise-versa?
Why does Hon. Asomah Cheremeh and his boy Jafaru Yakubu would like to drug the name of BA Chief Imam and Islam through the mud by associating them to thuggery and lawlessness. Enough is enough! We will not sit down for the name of our leaders to be souled in a manner that makes our religion a laughing object to the society.
On this note we call on Hon. Regional Minister and Jafaru Yakubu with immediate effect retract and apologize to the office of the Regional Chief Imam for associating him to useless,lawless, unwarranted and shamful attack on Abronye DC. Thank you
