Teacher Turns Musician

A new force of colossal proportions is about to be unleashed on Ghanas music landscape. The individual responsible for this is a teacher, a key member of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT). Timoteo Atsu Adugu, a native of Anyako, is the local General Secretary for GNAT in Asogli, Volta Region. Adugu is on the verge of launching a musical missile onto the music front in the form of a gospel album titled, Beautiful Home, a reference to Heaven. The launch will take place at Freedom Hotel, Ho, on Sunday, 13 December at 3pm, a day that, by all indications, will be remembered. Adugus music is a combination of excellent songwriting skills, good vocals and instrumentation. The album is full of catchy, easy to sing along with tunes with immense commercial potential. It is set to create stiff competition for established artistes, particularly those in the gospel music field. Pre-release comments on the album from both local and international music aficionados are mind-blowing. Debbie Gold of Resonance FM, UK, is so excited she wants an MP3 version of the album for immediate airplay. Nyasha of SAR FM in Michigan, USA, said of Adugus video clip on You Tube - I love your video and like the country style. Atsu (Adugu), you have so much talent and I pray God keeps on blessing you. Send me your video so I can promote it to HYPERLINK "http://www.sarfmradio.com" www.sarfmradio.com. After viewing Adugus video rendition of the track Hallelujah, a high life-based praise song, Ghanaian actor Adjetey Annang, aka Pusher, stated U got me dancing. I enjoyed it. Kudos!Born on June 26 1978, Timoteo Adugu, who also plays acoustic guitar, is an old boy of Presby Training College, Akropong, and Accra Academy. He teaches English at Ho Fiave SDA JHS in the Volta Region and is currently pursuing a degree course in Business Administration/Marketing Option at Valley View University, Dodowa. His vision is to inject new sounds into Ghanas music landscape, experimenting with a potpourri of music styles including country music and salsa, genres generally absent from releases of Ghanaian artistes. Songs on the album come in several languages - English, Twi, Eve and Ga. Tracks include God is good, Never be afraid, Kafu Kafu Ha, etc. Recorded at AB Studios, Tema, and Lino Digital Studios, the album is on the V Record Label, distributed by Big Ben Music and Makafui Music, Togo.
