Zenith Bank donates items to Adiebeba Basic School

Zenith Bank has donated assorted items running into thousands of Ghana Cedis to support children at the Adiebeba Basic School in Kumasi. The items include textbooks, used clothes, shoes, soft drinks and cartons of "Indomi" noodles. The donation was in response to a campaign launched by Lady Julia Osei Tutu, wife of the Asantehene for more support to be given to needy and socially disadvantaged children in society. Her foundation, "Nana Afia Kobi Ampem Foundation" has been assisting some brilliant but needy students and has become a regular visitor to orphanages. Lady Julia joined the Zenith Bank's branch Manager, Mrs Beatrice Mensah to hand over the gifts to the school at a ceremony. The wife of the Asantehene reminded organisations and institutions of their social responsibility to the community and said they should do more to help make life a bit comfortable for the poor and the under-privileged. Mrs Mensah said the bank was proud to be associated with efforts at helping to provide for the needs of disadvantaged children. Mr Baffour Osei Hyiaman, Mawerehene of Kumasi, who received the items thanked the bank and said they would ensure that the children benefited from the items. Mrs Emelia Adomako Abrafi, the Head-Teacher, appealed for the construction of additional classrooms and the supply of computers, and furniture for the school.
