Ignore NDC Noise and Be Focused – NPP Members Advised

A communicator of the New Patriotic Party [NPP] Banasco Ampong Ansah, has called on members of his party especially appointees to ignore anxieties by members of the National Democratic Congress [NDC] as they get focused on dealings that will develop the state.

According to him, the several accusations mainly by the Minority in Parliament leveled against the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta of flouting rules and guidelines of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) as well as engaging in several infractions in relation to the $2.25billion bond issued by the government in 2017, is just a strategy they have taken to overthrow his good works.

Speaking on Kasapa FM’s morning show, Mr. Ampong Ansah said, he knows for a fact that Ken Ofori-Atta did not engage in any corrupt practice as they [minority in parliament] claim.

He said they also have all the privileges to act in any manner of their choice per the laws of the state to address the matter at hand.

Referring to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice [CHRAJ]’s report after investigating the saga, Mr. Ampong Ansah noted “There was nothing which stated that his actions were corrupt rather what it indicated was that he did no wrong in issuing the bond, but there was a potential conflict of interest, which means that his wrong doing will set in if he personally in future benefits from the bond transaction.

"So, NDC should wait until they have the evidence that he is benefiting from the transaction before their agitations can be of relevance, for now it is not needed because he is not making any profit”, he said.
