Zongo Chiefs Call On Bawumia

The National Council of Zongo Chiefs Saturday paid a courtesy call on Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, led by its President Alhaji Abdul Kadir Tahir.

The chiefs prayed to Almighty God to grant the vice president good health and long life to continue his good work for the country. They also prayed for the unity and peace of Ghana.

From the vice president’s residence, they proceeded to their office to deliberate on peace and unity among Zongo chiefs. In his welcome address, the PRO of the council, Alhaji Imoro Baba Issah, expressed gratitude to his colleagues for their loyalty and support for the national council and called for mutual respect among them.

Nana Fanyinama III, the first vice president of the council, called for unity among members, while 3rd vice president Chief Alhaji Umar Abubakar also asked that Zongo chiefs regardless of their different cultures should come together for the realisation of their common objective of development.

The Zongo chief of Atebubu Duffalo, Moro Osman, asked that his colleagues to be truthful, frank and transparent.

The President of the Kumasi Council of Zongo Chiefs, Naba Alhaji Akabongo, thanked the government for giving free tickets to the council and appealed to all members to uplift the image of the National Council of Zongo Chiefs.
