A bi-monthly Newsletter of the Ghana Mines Workers Union (GMWU) of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), made its debut on Friday aimed at bringing members of the union abreast of developmental and labour issues.
The publications would also focus on economic, political, and cultural issues in Ghana and abroad.
Launching the Newsletter during the union's National Executive Council meeting in Accra, Mr Prince William Ankrah, General Secretary of the GMWU, said the event was another landmark of the union.
He said in a knowledge driven economy, there was the need to ensure effective communication to educate members about what goes on in order to enable them to make analytical and informed decision.
Mr Ankrah said it was the aim of the present executives to upgrade the educational standards of members, irrespective of age or gender and above all to turn their fortunes round through decent working life, salary and pension.
The two-page Newsletter captured some union activities and history.
