Edmund Kyei Writes: Prez Nana Addo Has Given Ghanaians A Solid Choice To Fight Corruption
After watching the entire parliamentary vetting of Mr. Martin Amidu with that sterling performance, I have no doubt in mind that President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo has given Ghanaians a solid choice to fight corruption.
I stand as a Proud Ghanaian today with an elevated hope that corruption will be dealt with in an objective and unbiased way to reduce corruption to the barest minimum. His character and position today is driving shivers in the spines of many Public Officers.
The choice of Mr Martin Amidu demonstrates that the NPP government under President Nana Akufo-Addo believes in an all inclusive government and a big step to fight corruption.
It is also an essential pathway in dealing with the syndrome - winner takes all in our body politics. As the President promised a full scale commitment to fight corruption, he has shown beyond his critics his desire to safeguard the mismanaged purse of Ghana by the NDC, by giving Ghanaians a competent and solid person to deal with corruption.
Mr. Martin Amidu today confirmed in his delivery why the president indeed made a very objective political appointment.
Mr Martin Amidu exhibited class, high moral, virtue, and integrity in all his answers. By His performance Mr Martin Amidu has also justified why he should be entrusted with such high profile responsibility.
Assuredly, he doesn't work for recognition, fame or reward, but for country and humanity.
Mr. Martin Amidu is indeed a national asset and pride.. I entreat all to rally behind him with the full cooperation in the fight against financial malfeasance and corruption by public officers.
Let us applaud our President for his vision and desire to create the office of the Special Prosecutor and nominating one of Ghana's fine legal brains as a candidate.
