Alhaji Grunsah Blasts Kotoko

Veteran football administrator, Alhaji Karim Grunsah, has slammed the management of Asante Kotoko over poor managerial practices and has insisted that they are the cause of the club miseries.

Steve Pollack has been relieved off as the head coach Asante Kotoko head coach after the team failed to progress to the next round of the CAF Confederations Cup in the preliminary round.

The FA Cup champions lost 7-6 on penalties to Congolese side CARA Brazzaville following a 1-1 aggregate score line after regulation time.

The Reds failed to lift the GHALCA G8 tournament as well as the Super Cup against Aduana Stars, and have been booted out from the CAF Confederation Cup.

But according to the King Faisal bankroller, the predicament of the club was not entirely the fault of Polack as he claimed management was equally responsible for their woes, hence deserved to face the gauntlet as well.

“I remember that before the first leg in Kumasi, the CEO promised Ghanaian that they will deliver the trophy, what did he see before saying? It shows the confidence level he had on his team, so if they have failed I believe the management should equally take the blame,” Grunsah told Happy FM.

“Football is such a way that only a coach fails but not management. I don’t think the coach should have been blamed for this at all. Do the management also not aware that they have also failed.

Kotoko has replaced Polack with former Black Starlets coach Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin after handing him a one-year contract, with the option to extend it.
