Manhyia M/A JHS Endowment Fund launched

Mr Kwabena Kesse, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Kessben Group of Companies, has donated GH5,000.00 to be used as seed money for the Manhyia M/A Junior High School Endowment Fund. He has also pledged to build a three classroom block for the primary school within six months to ease overcrowding. The increase in enrolment has led to a situation where classes for some of the pupils are held under trees. At the launch of the Endowment Fund, Mr Kesse said the fund would help to provide infrastructure and logistics to complement what the district assembly and the government were providing to improve teaching and learning. He expressed dissatisfaction with the inadequate computers for teaching of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the school and promised to provide them with additional 18 pieces. Mr Kesse appealed to the privileged in society to contribute to the wellbeing of the poor and disadvantaged. Nana Kwasi Kusi II, the Asantehene's Ankobeahene, spoke about the importance of education in national development and said all should therefore join hands to ensure that children had access to quality education. He supported the fund with GH1,000.00. Professor Daniel Bour, Provost of the College of Art and Social Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), presented 40 bags of cement towards the construction of additional classroom block for the primary school.
