Korea Gov’t In ‘Possible’ Partnership With Ghana To Develop Railway System

The Korean Ambassador to Ghana,  His Excellency Kim Sungsoo hinted a possible partnership with Ghana to develop the country’s railway networks.

Mr. Kim Sungsoo led a two member delegation to discuss the partnership with the Minster for Railways Development, Joe Ghartey in Accra.

They assured to assist Ghana and the ministry to achieve its objectives in railway developments and also set up a scholarship scheme for the ministry.

The sector Minister who was pleased by the visit briefed Ambassador Kim Sungsoo on the state of Ghana’s railway networks.

According to him, the Nana Addo-led government is expected to construct a 4000km railway network across the country.

“Government will construct 1,400km within the first 4 years”, he noted.
 
The minster also proposed to Mr Woon-Ki to give opportunities for the ministry and its agencies to undertake internship programmes with major railway firms in Korea.
