Pastor Frank Annor Hospitalised

The controversial Pastor Frank Annor, who is at the centre of the Bishop Obinim and Pastor Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom imbroglio bordering on a juju allegation, has been hospitalised following an assault on him last Saturday by unidentified men. His assailants reportedly trailed him in an ash Chrysler car from Kumasi, and attacked him while on his way to Konongo. According to him, the vehicle on which he was traveling developed a fault at Oduom near Kumasi, as a result of which he boarded an Ejisu bound taxi cab, so he could continue from there. He said the taxi had hardly taken-off, when he noticed an ash Chrysler, occupied by four persons, trailing the taxi, and asked the driver to speed up, but the Chrysler caught up with them. Sensing danger, the taxi branched off the road, only to be followed by the assailants, who overtook the taxi and crossed it, preventing from going any further. When the occupants of the Chrysler emerged, they made him understand that they would not harm him if he co-operated, saying their mission was simply to prevail upon him to revoke the curses he had previously invoked against Pastor Obinim and Charles Abankwa, which he (Frank Annor) refused. Annor also told the police that his assailants wanted him to say on tape that it was Pastor Adarkwa Yiadom who hired him to plot against Bishop Obinim, which he also refused to do. Infuriated by Annors refusal to heed to their demands, the assailants allegedly subjected him to severe beatings, hitting him on his joints with a metal object to weaken him, before leaving him to his fate. Helpless as he was, the taxi driver took Annor to the Ejisu Police to lodge a complaint, after which a medical form was issued to him to attend the Ejisu Hospital. He was later referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi. Annor, who can hardly walk without help after the incident, was rushed to the theatre last Sunday, shortly after The Chronicle had managed to take shots of him on his hospital bed. The Ejisu Police, under the command of DSP Stephen Awuah, has corroborated Annors complaint. The police took a statement from Annor on Monday at the hospital.
