National Youth Volunteerism & Patriotism Conference & Awards Set For April 27

Volunteerism and patriotism are two attributes required for any nation to achieve accelerated national development.

Ghana has seen great volunteers and patriotic individuals like Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, J. B. Danquah, Yaa Asantewaa and many others who went through many obstacles to make our nation great and strong. However, there is every indication that the country is now in need of altruistic individuals who will give themselves off for the good Ghana’s development again.

This conference has been put together by the Osei-Kusi Foundation (OKF) and its partners to rekindle the spirit of volunteerism and patriotism and raise a new breed of Ghanaians, who love their country and are willing to sacrifice for future generations. The theme for this year’s conference is “Accelerating Development Through Volunteerism” and will feature participants from the United Kingdom, Australia, Sierra Leone, Uganda, The Netherlands, and Ghana.

As part of the conference, three (3) student teams from three tertiary institutions will pitch their volunteering projects to address a need they have identified within their communities.  The winning team will be presented with a grant of GH¢10,000 from the Osei-Kusi Foundation to implement their project.

The event will host a number of international speakers, including Mr Billy Williams (Former Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, Australia), Ms Linda Boakye (Career & Mindset Coach, UK), Mr Juergen Pallien (Self-Made Millionaire & Philanthropist, Germany), Ms. Kim Green (Organizational Development Consultant, UK), Ms Ivana de Haan (International Fashion Designer & Philanthropist, Netherlands), Mr Wilson Agyeman (President of DIF Africa), and Dr. Joyce R.
