MMT passengers to insist on valid tickets

Passengers who board the Metro Mass Transit Limited (MMT) buses, are to insist on the issuance of valid tickets commensurate with the fares they pay. Mr Prince Owusu-Agyemang, an Assistant Traffic Officer of the MMT, gave the directive in an interaction with newsmen in Kumasi at the weekend. He said the issuance of valid tickets to fares paid was crucial to ensuring that the company maximized profits for its sustenance. It would also check cheating by conductors some of whom deliberately refused to issue valid tickets for their selfish gains, he said. Mr Owusu-Agyemang therefore urged passengers on board MMT buses not hesitate to report conductors of suspicious characters to the authorities. He said the Kumasi office of the MMT had taken delivery of 20 new buses to beef up its fleet to convey passengers to and from the Central Business District to their various destinations.
