Wee Peddlers Rounded Up At Nima

Four suspected drug peddlers, including two females, have been arrested by the Nima Divisional Police Command for allegedly selling substances suspected to be Indian Hemp at a spot at the Nkrumah Circle.

The suspects, according to police, sell liquor laced with Indian Hemp to the public at a drinking spot.

They have been identified as Christiana Kombaba, 34, the kingpin; Prince Osei Anokye, aka Network, 20, Kelvin Antwi, aka Joe, 22, and Alima Adams, 28.

In addition, 18 other suspects suspected to be dealing in narcotics were also arrested during the swoop.

Some quantities of Indian Hemp and Tramadol capsules were seized from the suspects in the course of the operation.

Briefing DAILY GUIDE, Chief Superintendent Abraham Acquaye, the Nima Divisional Police Commander, said the operation was conducted on April 23, 2018 in some parts of the Nkrumah Circle, Nima gutter and Mamobi.

He said the exercise would be organised periodically to rid the area of criminals.

The first four suspects, including the two females were arrested with the dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp.

Police believe they were selling it to the public.

The 18 others were also arrested in their various hideouts smoking the substance, while others were also found in possession of the Tramadol capsules.

The suspects are being screened and those found culpable would be arraigned before court.
