Amissah-Arthur Calls For Active Women Participation In Politics

Former Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has called for active women participation in politics.

Mr. Amissah- Arthur said for every democracy to thrive, women and grass roots' participation is critical and so called on them to show interest and enthusiasm in the NDC branch elections.

“It’s a wish to have more women in politics especially in the NDC branch level elections, because they can be trusted, so the need to encourage them. He appealed to women in NDC to increase the level of women participation in elections. Because the branch level elections was important since it provided the structure for the development and grass roots’ participation of the NDC party", he said.

Kwesi Amissah-Arthur made the statement as part of his "Touching base" visit to observe and monitor the ongoing branch elections in the Central Region.

He visited the Food Chain branch and the Islamic School branch in the the Asikuna Odoben Brakwa constituency in the Central Region.

The former Vice President encouraged them to put their defeat behind them adding that both winners and losers to unite and work harder to ensure a return of the NDC to power, come 2020.
