The Apostolic Church holds convention

The Reverend Samuel Tetteh Walker, Adabraka District Head of The Apostolic Church of Ghana, has called on Ghanaians to have compassion for the under-previleged in society and help them to become productive citizens to help build the nation. He said Christmas must not be seen as a period of merry-making only but a time of reflection, showing love to one another, and taking stock of the past year to realize one's short-comings. It was also an opportune moment to intensify efforts towards national development. The Rev. Walker made the call at the end of a four-day Pre-Christmas Convention which ended in Accra on Sunday. It was held under the theme, "He Came". The Rev. Walker said Christians would be doing a disservice to the nation if they did not allow the teaching of Jesus Christ to reflect in their daily lives. He called on religious leaders to use the pulpit to educate their members on government's policies and programmes. The Rev. Walker took the opportunity to advise drivers to desist from driving under the influence of alcohol in order to save life and property.
