Asantehene Blesses John Boadu For NPP Gen Sec

The King of Asanteman, His Royal Highness Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has extended his royal benedictions and blessings to the National Organizer and Acting General Secretary of the governing NPP, John Boadu for his outstanding contribution not only to the cause of his party and government but to the development of Ghana at large.

He recounted the leading role played by John Boadu to bring sanity to the NPP when the party was facing crisis in the run-up to the 2016 elections and ensuring that the party won the polls.

His Royal Highness also made an instructive statement to the effect that the Assins, John Boadu's ethnic orientation, originated from Asanteman, precisely Amakom, Kumasi from where they moved to their current settlement in the Central Region.

To this extent, the Asanteman Overlord posited that the Assins are technically Asantes and therefore he sees John Boadu who is an Assin man, as his brother/subject deserving of his support at all times.

The King made these remarks and showered his blessings on the NPP National Organizer when the latter [Mr. John Boadu] paid a courtesy call on him at the Manhyia Palace on the occasion of the commemoration of 'Wukudae', a festival in the Asanteman calendar which has great traditional significance to the golden stool. This event happened last Wednesday, the 2nd day of May, 2018.

John Boadu, who doubles as the National Organizer and Acting General Secretary of the NPP is contesting for the substantive General Secretary position of the party.

He recently began a nationwide tour to seek the mandate of the party's rank and file particularly the delegates to the forthcoming National Annual Delegates Conference scheduled for June to lead the party in that capacity having proven himself more than worthy of that position with his outstanding competence and proven track record.
