Emmanuel Boateng Becomes First Ghanaian To Score Against Both Real Madrid And Barcelona In The Same Season

Levante forward Emmanuel Boateng got himself in the record books by becoming the first Ghanaian to score against two Spanish giants, Real Madrid and Barcelona in the same season.

The former Ghana under-20 forward achieved the feat in the most remarkable way after scoring a hat-trick against Barcelona, to end their unbeaten run in the La Liga.

Boateng was magnificent in the game, as he wasted no time in starting a mission that will grab the headlines in the Spanish media, when he opened the scoring on the 9th minute.

He doubled the lead on 30 minutes after rounding up Barcelona goalkeeper Marc- Andre ter Stegen and cooly slotting in, evading defender Nelson Semdo.

The Ghanaian, who joined Levante at the beginning of the season from Moreirense in Portugal completed his hat-trick- which is the first of his career- when he smashed in the fourth goal for Levante on the night.

He became the first player to score a hat-trick against Barcelona in 13 years.

The Catalans fought relentlessly hard to keep their unbeaten run but without Messi in the squad, Barcelona were left with no mercy by the Ghanaian.

Earlier in the season, the 21 year old announced his presence in the Spanish La Liga when he play a key role in Levante's 2-2 draw with European Champions Real Madrid.

Boateng scored in the 42nd minute when Levante were trailing Madrid after Sergio Ramos had scored the opener 11 minutes into the game.

The young forward's performances this season has already earned him a call up into the senior national team of Ghana, and he will be expected to make his debut in the International friendlies against Japan and Iceland in June.
