GFA And Clubs Clash Over Finder’s Fee Payment For Zylofon Cash Sponsorship Deal?

In the latest sequel of lack of transparency within the Ghana Football Association ranks members of the association have contradicted themselves in the Zylofon Cash Ghana Premier League sponsorship deal.

An agency fee of 7.5% was published by the Ghana FA on their website but the publication was later pulled down.

Officials from the FA Headquarters in Accra have stated there’s a non-disclosure clause in the sponsorship contract therefore terms and conditions of the contract cannot be disclosed.

Last week Hearts of Oak’s representative at the Premier League Board Alhaji Akambi confirmed to host of Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Morning Show that he sat throughout the PowerPoint presentation of the contract and the clubs agreed to a 7.5% in agency fee to the brokerer.

However, Ghana FA executive committee member and Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee member, Wilfried Osei Kwaku Palmer has told Asempa FM the 7.5% brokerer fee is not true. But rather the Ghanaian football governing body paid a finder’s fee from their own coffers.

The contradictory claims have added to people’s perception of lack of transparency within the rank and file of the GFA.

This latest contradiction further impairs trust and further harms the public’s confidence in the GFA.
