Forgive Kwesi Nyantakyi; He's Also A "Child Of God" - Chief Biney
Aspiring Deputy National Organiser of the NDC, Chief Biney Hamilton Nixon, has asked Ghanaians to forgive the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwesi Nyantakyi over his involvement in corruption in the latest Anas Aremeyaw Anas' exposé.
The GFA Boss is currently the subject of a Police probe after President Akufo-Addo filed a complaint against him after watching a part of the #Number12 documentary before its premiere.
Kwesi Nyantakyi has been charged with defrauding by false pretenses for using the name of the country’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo to negotiate for a business deal.
In a meeting with Anas' Tiger Eye PI collaborators who posed as a businessman in the #Number12 documentary, CAF Vice-President Nyantakyi was captured soliciting sums of money allegedly on behalf the President ($5million), Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia ($3million), the Transport Minister, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah ($2 million) and his deputy Anthony Karbo ($1million).
Greater Accra Regional Football Association Chairman, Eddie Doku and Kofi Manu were also captured accepting bribes to influence selection into the national teams and issues regarding player’s eligibility.
Disappointments and frustrations were designed all over the faces of several Ghanaians after viewing the undercover video at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.
Addressing the issue on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, Chief Biney bemoaned the greed and impropriety of Kwesi Nyantakyi's character.
According to him, Mr. Nyantakyi has embarrassed the President of the Republic and the entire nation.
He wondered why the GFA Boss failed to exercise discretion and refrain from divulging potentially criminal information in the transaction.
However, Chief Biney believes to err is human and therefore says he has "forgiven Kwesi Nyantakyi as a person".
He hoped the citizenry could also sympathize with Kwesi Nyantakyi saying "though it doesn’t wipe out the wrongdoing, for what I’ve seen and thought of him. For God’s sake, I see him as a child of God".
