Court Receive Health Report On Dr Obengfo

The Police has furnished a District Court in Accra with the Health report from Ridge Hospital of Dr Dominic Kwame Obeng-Andoh, Proprietor of Obenfo Hospital who is receiving treatment at the facility.

Dr Obeng-Andoh aka Dr Obengfo who was in court today is being held for the murder of Stacy Offie Darko, deputy Chief Executive Officer of National Entrepreneurship Innovation Programme (NEIP)

On June 12, this year the court presided over by Ms Efua Sackey ordered the Greater Accra Regional Hospital to furnish it with a comprehensive report on the health status of the ailing medical practitioner.

The Police alleged that Dr Obengfo had refused to show up in court although he was well.

At today’s sitting, although the Police made available the medical report its contents were not made known.

Soon after receiving the report, the court invited the Detective Chief Inspector Simon Aporsornu and defence counsel Mr Jonathan Dzaisu to approach the bench.

Prosecution said to the court that a duplicate docket was being prepared and same would be forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office.

According to Chief Inspector Apoirsornu investigations were on going and the Police have written to some public institution for information and they were yet to receive their responses.

Meanwhile journalists who turned up in court to report on Dr Obengfo’s case were made to hand over their phones to the court warrant officer on the orders of the Court.

The phones were however returned to them after the matter had been heard.

The Court at the last sitting advised journalist to inform the court Registrar about their presence to be in court and the Registrar should in turn inform the court.

The matter has been adjourned to July 3.
