I'm Hurt...This Is A Painful Experience For Kwesi Nyantakyi, But - Kweku Baako

Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has empathized with the embattled Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kwesi Nyantakyi for being caught on video allegedly accepting bribe.

Mr. Nyantakyi was seen in the recent investigative video by Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye PI team receiving $65000 and using the names of the President and Vice President of the Republic to transact a shoddy business.

Though Mr. Nyantakyi is under investigation by the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, he has however challenged the facts put out by Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his team.

He has denied claims regarding funding of his trip to Dubai as well as the specific airline he traveled with.

According to a Ghanaweb publication on Wednesday, Mr. Nyantakyi insists he paid for his own "tickets whilst Tiger Eye PI team has also released an invoice with identification number, 16411993 dated 17th, October, purported to be that of Emirates, an Arab airline, which according to them confirms the arrangement of ticket for the travel of Mr. Nyantakyi to and from Dubai".

He's also challenged the amount he's purported to have received from the business mogul in the Anas' exposé, alleging that prior to the premiering of the investigative video at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Wednesday, June 6; he was contacted to make a payment of $150000 to the Tiger Eye PI team to prevent the public from viewing but was only able to cough up $100000.

The team, he reportedly noted, rejected his offer.

Tiger Eye PI has however denied all claims by Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Mr. Nyantakyi also, in a statement, is quoted to have said that his email has been tampered by hackers and so doubts the authenticity of the reports in the public domain.

Speaking on Wednesday's edition of "Kokrokoo" on Peace FM, Kweku Baako also challenged the claims by Kwesi Nyantakyi in revealing documents to prove Mr. Nyantakyi's email may not have been hacked.

According to him, he has records of the telephone conversations as well as email correspondences between Mr. Nyantakyi and the undercover business magnate he was dealing with.

He hinted that during Mr. Nyantakyi's travel to Dubai, he (Nyantakyi) took along and paid for the hotel accommodation of President of Liberia, George Weah, supposedly bringing him on board to be part of the deal but the team declined the meeting.

He actually took George Weah and two others to Dubai, ostensibly to meet Tiger. I have all the emails and the truth is that the Tiger team did not meet them because for them, it was not part of their agenda. They did not and Kwesi Nyantakyi got angry…

Though refuting the claims by Mr. Nyantakyi, Mr. Baako told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that he is very hurt and concerned about the trying experience of Mr. Nyantakyi.

Mr Baako further stated that he wished Mr. Nyantakyi had not compromised his position because it's affected his family, particularly his wife and children.

Mr. Baako explained that he was been a supporter of Mr. Nyantakyi over the years but there was nothing he could have done to salvage his (Nyantakyi) situation.

I’ve backed him and I like him. This is a painful experience. I’m genuinely hurt except that there’s no way I could have controlled or manipulated the process in his favour", he stressed.
