Showbiz Reporter Attacks Charter House

Following an uncomplimentary status update on his Facebook page, ghanacelebrities.com got in touch with top Ghanaian showbiz reporter, Ameyaw Debrah to find out the reasons behind his lashing out at event management firm, Charter House. According to Ameyaw, it upsets him whenever a major event organizing firm such as Charter House ignores him in spite of being aware of his selfless contribution and hard work when it comes to supporting the Ghanaian entertainment industry. The crux of his contention is that Charter House hosted two major events this Christmas season without inviting him to cover even one of them. Asked whether he contacted Charter House about his intention to cover these events he answered, Yes I contacted the media and PR department a few days to these events and hinted them that I wouldnt be happy if they ignored me again but perhaps they took it as a joke, being the clown that I am. Anyway, such an organization should have a list of media originations and efficient freelancers that they would use during such events. Ameyaw, who has single handedly reports on Ghanaian entertainment with articles, pictures and videos has his works on all major Ghanaian websites and is one of the most reliable source of information in that sector. According to him Charter House is fully aware of his works and some top executives in the establishment have complimented him on his blogs and articles, so he finds it hard to believe that they have ignored him since last inviting him to cover the Ghana Music Awards in March. Ghanacelebrities.com asked him why he doesnt just buy his own tickets for these shows and he answered, I could buy my own ticket but it just doesnt feel right. So I just choose to stay away if I am not invited. Maybe Charter House doesnt believe in the impact of new media and since they have some major newspapers and GTV onboard, they can choose to ignore people like me. I hear they are about to set up their own TV station and I wonder how their media relations would be when they have such a medium of their own. I hope they come around soon but I am still going to do what I do best and I hope the people that matters most to me, my audience, continue to support and appreciate my work. Ameyaw Debrah has his works on Ameyawdebrah.com, Ghanacelebrities.com, Ghanaweb.com, Modernghana.com and all major Ghanaian websites.
