I'm In Total Support Of Prez Akufo-Addo, But … - Professor Agyekum

Dean of the School of Performing Arts at the University of Ghana, Professor Kofi Agyekum has expressed his total support for President Akufo-Addo's latest directive on foreign trips.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo through a statement issued by the Chief of Staff Frema Osei-Opare, to all Ministers, Deputy Ministers; Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) as well as all heads of government institutions few days ago, has banned every appointee in his government from going on any foreign trips.

Professor Agyekum in a discussion on Peace fm’s ‘Kokrokoo’ programme noted that, the President and his Chief of Staff can cancel foreign trips that are of no benefits to the state, but those which are of great value to the nation, must be attended.

I perfectly agree with the president for temporarily banning his appointees from going on foreign trips, except the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway. Yet, he should as well be considerate on travels that are of great benefits to the nation,” he added.

He advised government to be thoughtful on its new requirement for teachers, and also counseled teachers to make sure they give out their best for the betterment of the nation.

I advice that the National standard development guide for teachers, yet to be introduced procedure for teachers be an intricate type, preventing other teachers from reaching the standard needed”.

I am so passionate about issues concerning teachers because no matter the gift of God in your life, you need a teacher’s help to excel those talents”.

“Government must not also forget that teacher’s need some necessary gadgets to make their work fulfilled despite the requirements for the job” Professor Agyekum asserted.
