China Gifts Foreign Affairs Ministry $300K, 2 Buses

Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has been given 2 million RMB (US$302,311.00) by the government of the People's Republic of China to help support its operations and also refurbish its building.

The donation was made through the Chinse Embassy here in Accra.

Additionally, the government of China has given the ministry two brand new buses.
 
The Chinese Ambassador-Designate to Ghana, Shi Ting Wang, at the donation ceremony held at the ministry, said: "In order to demonstrate the Chinese government's commitment to supporting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana, the Chinese government decided to grant 2 million RMB in cash, which is equivalent to US$302,311, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana".
 
Ambassador Shi added that, "The Chinese Embassy in Ghana also decided to donate two mini-buses to the Ministry. I believe that these donations will help the capacity building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana".

He used the opportunity to announce that Ghana’s president has accepted to be part of the Summit on China-Africa Cooperation, which will be held in Beijing in September this year.
