Headmaster of Battor Senior High School (SHS) in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region, who allegedly had sexual relations with one of the female students, has been suspended by the Ghana Education Service (GES).
DAILY GUIDE’s sources in the school confirmed that the headmaster, Lawrence Kwasi Korley, was asked to vacate his post for further investigations to be conducted into the matter.
Although the headmaster was served with a letter earlier, the North Tongu District Director of Education, Rhoda Abiba Akwetey, formally announced to the school last Friday that Mr Korley had been suspended owing to preliminary investigations into the affair.

The headmaster has been absent since Monday, July 16, 2018, but he came to the school on Thursday, July 19, 2018, to allegedly sprinkle some concoction in his office and school compound.
The headmaster managed to gain access to his office despite handing over to his assistants. The act caused fear and panic among the students and teachers who criticized him, DAILY GUIDE has gathered.
Some students hooted at the headmaster when he was sprinkling the concoction on the compound.
They, therefore, appealed to pastors and other spiritualists to deal with the curse invoked by the headmaster.
Mr. Korley was caught on tape having phone sex with one of the first-year female students (name withheld).
In the tape, which went viral in May 2018, the headmaster was heard asking the girl to remove her panty.
He instructed: “Have you removed it…open your legs, fondle your clitoris and moan as though we are having sexual intercourse.”
Mr. Korley is married with children, with her last born, a female, currently in the university.
In the tape, he moaned and asked the female student to do likewise, but the female student said she could not do so.
When interviewed by some radio stations, the headmaster admitted that it was his voice, but said he thought he was conversing with the elder sister of the said student.
When confronted with the fact that the girl had no elder sister, he challenged his accusers to take him to court if they believe he had violated the law.
“There is no law on morality, no one has come to arrest me; radio stations are saying I have been arrested but I am still in school,” he bluffed.
Other Victims
Unfortunately for him, several petitions sent to the Ministry of Education, Attorney-General and the Ministry of Gender, Women and Children led to investigations.
A civil society group that called for his dismissal in May alleged that Mr. Korley in 2011 raped an American schoolteacher who had to leave the country.
DAILY GUIDE’s sources at the Battor SHS also noted that about six female students accused the headmaster of sexual misconduct when the Ghana Education Service (GES) Investigation team stormed the school.
The Public Relations Officer of the GES, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, confirmed to an Accra-based radio station that Mr. Korley had been suspended based on preliminary investigations conducted by the Service.
She added that the national office had received the report from the Volta Regional GES Office and would soon make the outcome of the investigations public.
