Institutions should reward hard work and discipline

Madam Aisha Salia, Managing Director of JANAK Company, an egg tray manufacturer in Dormaa Ahenkro, has noted that any institution that failed to honour hardwork and discipline among staff would enjoy industrial harmony. She observed that apart from the rewards to satisfy workers during occasions, such rewards also helped to curb the tendency by staff to engage in pilfering and other negative practices. Madam Salia was honouring 17 workers of the company for their diligence and honesty at Dormaa Ahenkro at the week-end. Five pioneers of the staff received a 26-inch coloured television set and a half piece of wax print each while 12 others took home a standing fan each for meritorious service. Madam Aisha admonished workers both in public and private sectors to approach their chosen vocations with dedication to ensure the growth of their establishments and their own career development. She appealed to small and medium-scale business entrepreneurs to endeavour to follow laid-down processes in recruiting their workers. She said the tradition of reserving jobs for family members and friends must give way for recruitment of real professionals.
