Computer Man Sues Tano South MCE

Prophet Eric Akwasi Amponsah, known popularly as Computer Man, has sued the Tano South Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Collins Offinam Takyi, for  for defamation at the Sunyani High Court.

In his statement of claim dated July 23, 2018, Prophet Amponsah disclosed that the defendant, who is the Tano South MCE, has defamed him by referring to him as an assassin, murderous, deceitful, fraudulent, violent and disgraceful person in a publication at a press conference held at Dwomo, which was widely broadcast on Kessben FM, Kessbem TV, Charity FM and High Radio at Bechem.

According to the plaintiff, the defendant has denied him ownership of sheds he built as funeral grounds for the people of Dwomo, his hometown, of which he is a royal.

The statement said the publications made by the defendant (MCE) have created fear and panic among caretakers of the sheds erected by the plaintiff and warned them of imminent arrests if they persist in working on the project.

It added that the sad publications against the plaintiff have created the impression that he is untruthful, fraudulent and deceitful as he purported to take credit for a project he never put up.

The statement continued that the publications have further adversely affected the finances of the plaintiff as his donors and philanthropists now have serious reservation in donating to his mission.

It, therefore, urged the court to restrain the defendant and his office from interfering in the management of the sheds.
