Agonaman Youth Front Congratulates Cynthia Morrison On Her Appointemt As Gender Minster

We wish to express our profound gratitude to His Excellency the President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo for recognizing your hard work and dedication towards the vision of the Government and for the first time appointing a Substantive Minister from Agona West Constituency. We are aware of the benefit we continue to enjoy when Prof. Kwesi Yankah was appointed and confirmed as Minister of State in charge of Tertiary Education. Prof. Yankah’s inclusion in the Government of Nana Addo, is setting an agenda for the youth of our land. We have witnessed massive drive for your empowerment and employment, project constructions to meet pressing demands, increased access to opportunities in Ghana, and a clearly designed structure for improving standards and performance in education among the youth of Agona, Central Region and Ghana.

The news of your appointment yesterday 9th August, 2018, was received with high level enthusiasm and excitement, given your track record in humanitarian and philanthropic work in our socio-economic and political circles. You have been a strong advocate of girls, women and children and that sets you apart in our today’s politics. You have always had the quality of being fair and impartial in your dispensations about women and children. It is true that women and children are mostly vulnerable in our chauvinists’ society but your conscious drive for empowering them in your capacity as Member of Parliament for Agona West, is evident of the results we see today.

We believe you are fully aware this new position is to serve rather than to be served or to amass wealth.  The victory of 2016 was a clear reflection that, Ghanaians were fed up with the managers of the economy and we needed change. It was not surprising that you secured over 32,000 votes to become an MP. This became possible of your clear vision for Agonaman and its citizens as well as the trust of the people in your mission for development. The New Patriotic Party leadership in your Constituency, were also poised for power and did everything possible to make this whole agenda a reality.

Indeed, we are gradually realizing the change that we craved for.  Free SHS is here, Planting for Foods and Jobs, NABCO, restoration of the nursing and teacher trainee allowances, scrapping off nuisance taxes, massive recruitment in the public sector and our economy which recorded the lowest economic growth under the past Government (NDC) is now showing in the positive direction.

We know, Rome was not built in a day, your government has started on a good note and we believe there will be light at the end of the tunnel. We are therefore positive that, with you and Prof. Kwesi Yankah in Government, Agonaman can rest assured of massive development in Nana Addo’s Government. We are assured of your ability to deliver and we shall support your leadership to offer fairness and justice to all manner of persons who deserve nothing short of the best.

As we congratulate you today, it is our wish that you attend to your duty with all the commitment and selfless leadership style you have always exhibited.
Congratulations to you once again and we wish you the best of luck in your endeavors as an MP and Minister in charge of Gender, children and Social protection.  All the best of luck Obaapa Yaa Asantewaa.
