2 Shot As Robbers Raid Yendi Market And Bolts With Booty

Two armed robbers attacked traders at the Yendi market on Tuesday, shot two people and bolted with a bag which contained an unspecified amount of money.

The two armed robbers arrived in the market on a motorbike and attacked a forex exchange operator at about 5:30pm.

They were said to have approached the forex exchange operator under the pretense of wanting to change Ghana cedis into dollars but shot him whilst he opened his bag to bring out the dollars.

An eyewitness who went to the aid of the injured forex exchange operator was also shot by the armed robbers.

The robbers were said to have fled the scene on the motorbike with the bag which contained Ghana cedis and foreign currencies.

The two injured persons were sent to the Yendi Government Hospital for medical care.

An eyewitness told Graphic Online that the two armed robbers shot indiscriminately whilst they fled the scene with their booty.

According to the eyewitness a police patrol team arrived at the scene after the robbers left the scene.
