All Set For 15th Annual ‘Asorgli Te Za’ Tennis Tournament

The 15th edition of the annual ‘Asorgli Te Za’ Tennis Tournament is set to take place on Saturday 8th September, 2018 in Ho, the Volta Regional capital.

The one- day competition hosted by the Ho Tennis Club is expected to see six clubs including the host battle for honours and bragging rights in singles and double games for men and women in both categories.

The participating clubs include Army Officer’s Mess Tennis Club and Maritime Tennis Club from Accra, Tema Oil Refinery Tennis Club from Tema, 4BN Tennis Club from Kumasi and Goldfields Tennis Club from Tarkwa.

This year’s competition sponsored by STANBIC BANK, BABOLAT and some KIND HEARTED INDIVIDUALS is expected to  be keenly contested  and interesting with last year’s first runner-up - Ho Tennis club, poised to snatch the title from defending champions, Army Officer’s Mess Tennis Club (AMTEC).  

According to the Secretary of the Ho Tennis Club, MacLiberty Misrowoda, Friday 7th September, will see the arrival of invited clubs, followed by a welcome ceremony at 4:00pm, warm-up sessions at 5:00pm, captain's meeting at 6:00pm and a ‘Night Out’ to end the day.

On Saturday, 8th September, invited clubs will be expected to report on the court at 6am. The matches will commence at 7:30am after breakfast and at 10am, the matches will pause briefly for the official welcome by the Chairman, Ho Tennis Club, Lt. Col. Selorm Amengor.

Matches will then continue till 6pm for an official closing ceremony. There will be 'Grudge Matches’ on Sunday, 9th September. This will continue until the departure of the last club.
