New Year message to immigration officers

The Assistant Superintendent incharge of the Bole District Immigration Service, Mr Daniel Offei, has cautioned Immigration personnel against any acts of misconduct that are likely to tarnish the reputation of the service, urging them to show exemplary leadership for others to emulate. Mr Offei stated that the Immigration Service was the final authority as far as exit and entry into the country was concerned, and that they were collaborating with the Ghana Police Service in apprehending criminals, especially those who entered the country ilegally. He advised travellers to seek assistance from Immigration staff for the processing of the necessary travel documents at any of their regional offices in Ghana. The Assistant Superintendent said this when he delivered a New Year message to his guards at an end-of-year get-together in Bole over the weekend, during which he also outlined plans for the coming year. He commended the staff for a good work done during the year 2009, and asked them to work harder to meet the 2010 target. In attendance were the Bole District Fire Officer, Mr Abdallah Laminu, police personnel, a detachment of the Ghana Armed Forces and other security agencies in the district.
