An NDC delegate has confirmed that he was given 3000 Ghana cedis and a mobile phone as inducement before casting his vote during the just ended congress held on Saturday January 9, at Sunyani. Ras Mubarak, the defeated national youth organizer alleged that delegates were given, GH�3,000 each as well as mobile phones as inducement before casting their votes. Ras Mohammed Mubarak lost to Ludwik Hlodze who is a secretary at the office of the Chief of Staff in a competitive election which saw Anita De Souza being elected as National Women�s Organiser. Mubarak also accused party gurus of underhand manipulations in order to have Ludwik elected into office. General Secretary Aspirant, Kweku Eshun also alleged that the Castle is sponsoring favourites with money and gifts through vote-buying. A chairman-aspirant of the NDC Dr. Asamoah Tutu has also accused the incumbent Chairman Dr. Kwabena Agyei and General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketiah of sharing money and gifts to delegate. According to him, the situation is most alarming. However speaking to Citi News Samuel Dogbe a delegate admitted that he was given money and a Nokia mobile phone but refused to mention names of specific candidates who gave the monies and mobile phones. �Yes, we were given monies and mobile phones�I don�t think we should mention names here, the most important thing is that it is very bad because we don�t have this in our party�it is very very sad�. He said. He added that the monies were given to them through people purported to be working for the candidates and sometimes the candidates themselves. �The money was given physically by people working for them and some of the candidates themselves, they went from hotel to hotel�. According to Samuel almost every delegate at the congress was given monies and mobile phones to persuade them to vote in their favour. �Everybody, every delegate received a phone and money�. Samuel Dogbe also said that the monies and mobile phones shared might have influenced some delegates but his decision on whom to vote for was not influenced.
