A former Member of Parliament for the Akwatia Constituency in the Eastern Region, Baba Jamal says the ruling New Patriotic Party [NPP] will taste defeat in the 2020 election.

He explained that the “poor performance” of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will ‘hunt’ the NPP in the next elections after describing him as a “supper incompetent” leader.

“President Nana Addo will be a one term President. His poor performance will not secure the NPP another victory. All that he promised to do has not been done,” he said in an interview on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

Baba Jamal who is vying for the National Organizer position in the NDC also noted that Ghanaians should not compare the NPP to the NDC in terms of development.

“They [NPP] are terribly bad. Just mention one thing they have done. All they know is borrowing. Bawumia [Vice President] is now moving around to borrow money, someone who said their government will never borrow is now borrowing anyhow. 

“ . . NPP’s bad leadership is what is affecting the dollar-cedi rates,” he said. 

According to him, although the NDC increased the country’s debt stock to GHc87 billion within an eight-year period, the NPP government has in less than two years bloated the figure by about half of what the NDC government made within eight years.

He however urged Ghanaians to vote wisely in the next election to save Ghana from sinking.
