We Need Not Less Than 40 Years To Better Ghana - John Boadu

General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu has appealed to Ghanaians to give the party 40 years in government to transform the country.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Yaw Kesseh sit-in host of Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' programme Thursday,  he stated that the incumbent government is rolling out several socio-economic initiatives to enhance the development of Ghana.

However, the transformation that the NPP anticipates, he noted, cannot be possible if the party doesn't get an extensive period in governance.

He cited that Ghanaians are facing lots of hardships because the citizenry didn't give the mandate to President Nana Akufo-Addo and his government in 2008 after Ex-President John Agyekum Kufour handed over the baton to him to run for elections on the ticket of the NPP.

To him, voting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) into power following the good works and social interventions that the Kufour government laid for Ghanaians was the genesis of the economic challenges confronting Ghanaians.

John Boadu doesn't want Ghanaians to make another mistake and so stressed that the NPP needs "not less than 40 years to run this country to bring this country to a level that we’ll all be happy . . . We should keep focus as a party because we’re not doing it for ourselves but for posterity. Generations and generations to come will not forgive us if we don’t stay in power for a very long time”.
