Wontumi's Aide Blasts Akamba For His "Childish" Free SHS Politics

The Deputy National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joshua Akamba, continues to receive public backlash after he was seen in a viral video inciting students of Tempane SHS against the free SHS policy.

Many discerning minds, especially, educationists and political watchers, keep lashing out at him, over what they term as "infantile political gimmicks which is only practiced by weak minds."

And, in the view of Andy Owusu, the personal assistant to the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, the Ghana Education Service should as a matter of urgency, activate its sanction process to make sure the Headmaster of the Tempane SHS is not only suspended, but demoted to serve as deterrent to other heads of institutions who are bent on undermining the FREE SHS policy by the government.

Though the headmaster of the school has been suspended by the Ghana Education Service [GES], Andy Owusu wants the Education Ministry to strip him of his current position, while the Education Director in the district must also be called to answer questions.

The suspension comes after a video captured by the Deputy National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joshua Akamba, inciting students of Tempane SHS against the free SHS policy went viral.

Mr Akamaba was heard telling some students of Tempane Senior High School in the Upper East Region that President Nana Akufo-Addo and the government must be blamed for bed bugs allegedly attacking them in their school.

He was also heard complaining about congestion in the school, while the students expressed their frustration.

He is also seen encouraging the students to reject President Akufo-Addo as he is the cause of their predicament, a statement which many have described as "immature and senseless."

According to Andy Owusu, the NDC must not be allowed to spew lies about the Free SHS programme, and that he will resist any attempt by the NDC to orchestrate any agenda against the policy.

He blamed former President John Mahama for what Joshua Akamba did, saying it was all planned by the former President.

He wants Ghanaians to rise up against the move by ex-president Mahama and his NDC to run down the Free SHS programme, which he said has assuaged parents from their financial burden.
