Former Deputy Minister for Lands and Resources, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has punched the Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with words for his continues description of former President Mahama as “super incompetent”.

According to the Member of Parliament for the people of Juaboso in the Western Region on the ticket of the opposition of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Bawumia must distinguish between being a Running Mate of a Presidential Candidate and a Vice President of the Republic of Ghana as he is no longer campaigning but in the helm of affairs of this country.

Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show on Tuesday to respond to the Vice President’s portrayal of former President Mahama as “super incompetent”, Hon. Akandoh chided the second gentleman of the land to be circumspect with his utterances as he is subjecting himself for public attack.

“Dr. Bawumia must know that we are no longer doing campaign; he is no more a Running mate but the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and so his certain utterances which he uttered some years ago as a Running mate must change. We expect him to be circumspect with his utterances as a Vice President. He can lie to win power but he cannot use talking to govern this country”, he reproached.

The Juaboso lawmaker reiterated that he does not share the believe of others that the Vice President is trustworthy and honest with his economic prowess so long as he [Bawumia] could not produce 90 percent evidence of the bloated voter’s register as promised and his claim of arresting the dollar turns out to be a lie.

“I always say that if everyone will trust Dr. Bawumia, I will beg to differ today or tomorrow because everything he said in opportunity, for instance the bloated voter’s register which he couldn’t produce the 90% evidence and later claiming to have arrested the dollar as a Vice President but it turns out that the dollar keeps escalating; all these buttress my point of a man who is not truthful and honest”, he jabbed.

He stressed that Ghanaians are not feeling the promises Akufo-Addo and Bawumia government assured them but rather hardships have become the order of the day as there is nothing to show any improvement in the country since the NPP took over power.

He urged the Vice President Dr. Bawumia to focus on improving the economy which will reflect in the lives of the ordinary Ghanaians instead of putting his office as a Vice President up for series of attack; thus, there has not been any sector in this country which is progressing.

“Is it not true that the exchange rate keeps increasing? Is it not true that the hardship we are experiencing in this country is unprecedented under this regime? Is it not true that this government failed to honour its promise of Ghc1 million Cedis to every constituency every year? Mahama said nothing wrong when he asked the people in the north to show him the Dam Akufo Addo promised to build for them”, he stated.

“You are the Vice President and all we want to see is that our Cedi is appreciating and you describe someone [Mahama] who built airport Terminal 3 for you to use whenever you travel as incompetent while you have not built one; what then are you?”, he asked Bawumia.

Hon. Kwabena Mintah revealed that the economic growth which the country has chalked under Akufo Addo government comes from the investment Mahama made in the oil sector; thus, it is deceptive to call it growth as it does not reflect in the lives of Ghana but only on paper because all the monies are repatriated.

He added that apart from the oil sector which on paper it is showing growth, no other sector performed well under Akufo-Addo government; thus the local products like the Cocoa, Corn and Maize which will show economic growth in the lives of Ghanaians, performed abysmally.

“Before you described Mahama as super incompetent, you should be doing something better than what he did but what then have you done within the two years in power, which is better than what Mahama did?”

“Dr. Bawumia is not ashamed of all the happenings in the country but he has the boldness to describe Mahama as ‘super incompetent’; may God forgive him. If Bawumai continues to talk without feeling ashamed with all the sufferings in this country after he had promised better living conditions in opposition and portrayed himself as the most knowledgeable person and now comes out to still call Mahama incompetent, then may God forgive him”, he punched.
