The Normalisation Committee has officially petitioned Caf to extend the date to submit names of clubs for Inter Cup competitions.
Ghana football's Normalisation Committee has called on Confederation of African Football (Caf) for an extension of deadline to submit the names of clubs to represent the country in the 2018-19 Inter-club competitions, according to communications director Dan Kwaku Yeboah.
The West African country could not meet the October 15 deadline set by Caf but Yeoah believes a 'special' dispensation would be offered.
Each of the best 12 ranked countries on the continent is expected to submit two clubs each for the Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively.
"Ghana couldn't meet the deadline by Caf so we've written officially to them for an extension because of the state of football in the country after the Exposè," Yeboah told Goal.
"The Normalisation Committee is very hopeful that something good would come out of this because we need time to settle on which two clubs will represent the country in Caf Champions League and Confederation Cup because all our clubs haven't been active since the Premier League was suspended.
"The draw of the Africa Women Cup of Nations will take place over the weekend in Accra and Caf president Ahmad Ahmad as well as other top executives are expected in the country so we will take advantage of that occasion to find a lasting solution to this. However, we'll meet the club's top hierarchy before that," he added.
Aside Ghana, countries like Tunisia, Mozambique, Namibia, Benin and Botswana also could not meet the deadline.
Others including Comoros, Eritrea, Guinea Bissau, Mauritius, Sao Tome and Principe as well as Sierra Leone and Somalia also failed to submit their clubs.
Goal understands that Aduana Stars are ready to play in the Champions League.
