Usain Bolt Turns Down Two-Year Offer To Play For Valletta

Eight-time Olympic gold medalist and world's fastest man, Usain Bolt, has turned down a two-year offer to play for Valletta in the Maltese Premier League.

The former Jamaican athlete who scored twice in his latest trial match for Australia's Central Coast Mariners was offered a two -year deal by the Maltese club owned by Abu Dhabi-based ownership group, Sanban Investment Group.

But Bolt's agent has now confirmed that his client will not take up the offer of moving to the Maltese capital.

'There is a lot of interest in Usain playing football,' Ricky Simms told ESPN. 'We regularly receive similar approaches. I can confirm Usain does not wish to pursue this opportunity in Malta.'

Bolt who retired from athletics in 2017, has trained with Borussia Dortmund, South African club Sundowns and Norway's Stromsgodset.
