NDC Flagbearer Aspirant Postpones Campaign Launch Due To Heartbreaking Turnout

The campaign launch by NDC flagbearer aspirant and Member of Parliament for Cape Coast South, Kweku Ricketts Hagan has been postponed due to low turnout by delegates.

Over 800 delegates were expected to turn up for the event held at the Cape Coast town hall on Friday, October 19, 2018 but to the utter shock and surprise of the campaign team, only a handful of the party faithfuls showed up.

The constituency Secretary of the NDC, George Justice Arthur blamed the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for sabotaging their event.

His reason is the youth wing of the NPP in the constituency earlier in the day organized a forum in the same venue and failed to close on time.

He noted the NPP Youth wing forum which was supposed to end at 3pm rather closed 30 minutes after time, hence serving as a disincentive to some NDC folks to attend the campaign launch of the party Presidential hopeful.

He urged the party members and supporters of Mr. Ricketts Hagan to remain calm as a new date is yet to be fixed.

According to the team, the date will be communicated to the delegates and adequate preparations will be made.

Earlier, the team paid a courtesy call on the Central Regional House of Chiefs and the Central Mosque to officially declare intention to contest in the Presidential race on the ticket of the NDC come 2020.
