The Municipal Cheif Executive Hon Sandra Ahenkorah for the first time in the history of the municipality, extended an invitation to all unit committee members of Ayawaso West to a meeting at the (FIESTA ROYALE HOTEL).

In attendance was Mr Frank Aseidu Bekoe (Protozoa)-Director, Political Affairs to the Chief of Staff.

He took his turn to address the gathering after he was introduced by the Hon. MCE. His speech resonated with the committee members mainly because of the four major points he touched on.

He touched on unity and urged the Ayawaso West unit committee members to unite and work together with their electoral area assembly members. He further stressed that if there is no unity among members it was difficult for the community to progress. He therefore advised that as committee members they are the engine of growth in their communities.

Further on, he appreciated the good efforts of the MCE in ensuring that sanitation issues in the Municipality were being addressed tactfully.

PROJECTS

Mr Frank Aseidu Bekoe mentioned that funds had been made available for the construction of a mechanized toilet and bore holes but the availability of land for the construction have become problematic and there is fear of the fund being reverted back to government chest. Based on this, he advised that members could help resolve the issue by looking for available lands in their localities for the construction to commence.

EMPLOYMENTS

On the matter of employment, he advised the MCE to charge all contractors that will be given contracts in the Municipality to use members such as , carpenters, masons and labour that are indigenes of the community to help create employment.

Mr Frank Aseidu Bekoe received plaudits from the gathering as they expressed their admiration and approval for the issues he touched on during his speech.
