KNUST Students Boycott Lectures; Embark On Demo

Students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) are marching this morning from the Peace Junction to demonstrate against recent happenings in the school.

Ahead of the march, the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) asked all students to boycott lectures.

The march will see the presentation of a petition to authorities.

A misunderstanding between students and the school’s security last week resulted in the arrest of some 11 students.

One person is said to have been injured.

The students accused the police of using tasers on them.

Authorities have, however, denied the claims while calling on students to attend lectures.

They claim the activities embarked on by students which led to the misunderstanding have been outlawed.

They accused some alumni of instigating the students against them.
