Mrs Samira Bawumia has lauded Muslim women for their efforts in sustaining the peace in Muslim communities (Zongos) across the country.
The wife of Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia commended the women when she joined scores of them at the Zongo Women Empowerment Programme organised by Zongo Queen Mothers and the Zongo Development Network, in Kumasi.
Mrs Bawumia reiterated the government’s resolve to transform the Zongos, through the establishment of the Ministry of Inner-Cities and Zongo Development; and the Zongo Development Fund.
She urged the women to take advantage of opportunities to build their capacities to enable them to contribute to nation building.
