Obed Asamoah Endorses Creation Of Oti Region …Says It’s Long Overdue

With barely two (2) months for parts of Ghana to go for referendum for six(6) additional regions, one of the country's veteran statesmen and legal achievers, Dr. Obed Yao Asamoah, has called to order some detractors of the new wave of development coming to the people within the proposed Oti Region carved out of the Volta Region.

"But for Oti Region I wouldn't grant you this interview. The region is long overdue. Those against it should do so through the ballot box and stop making noise. The suit to let all in the Volta Region vote is legal nonsense,"

The 82-year old pragmatic native of the land said ahead of the referendum.

The forthcoming exercise has passed all the constitutional/legal tests from petitions to exhibitions/limited voter registration and enjoyed massive support from well-meaning Ghanaians.

The president, Nana Akufo-Addo, has severally assured Ghanaians of his "no interest" in the referendum for political gains or to bring disunity among any group.

His calls have been backed by majority of people of different political affiliations due to the new dawn of local governance for the citizenry.

The readiness of the chiefs and people of the proposed Oti Region to massively turn up to vote yes cannot be downplayed.

Few opponents have therefore resorted to peddling of misleading comments which have exposed their mischiefs.
