Mills Attacks NPP

President John Evans Atta Mills last Saturday vented his spleen on members of the Mew Patriotic Party (NPP) and warned them to be mindful of the unguarded statements they have been making about his government. President Mills, who has in recent times come under several attacks from both members of his ruling party and opposition over the manner in which he is running the country and his government, again warned members of the NPP to give his government a break. The former Vice President under former President Jerry John Rawlings regime further advised members of the largest opposition party to spare the NDC administration of what he referred to as sanctimonious and self-serving effusions and statements. He added that, the country, which his government inherited was not a country that had seen eight years of what the NPP termed as Positive Change. President J.E.A Mills, who was speaking at the NDCs historic and peaceful eight delegates conference held in Tamale last Saturday, urged members of the NDC to resolve to be more united in the fight towards achieving the better Ghana promise. He admitted that, his government has not worked to please its faithful since it assumed office, and said, he is okay with all the criticisms that have been made against his administration. The former law lecturer said, his government is fully aware of the promises it made to Ghanaians and re-assured Ghanaians of a better tomorrow. He stressed that, without truthfulness, dedication, transparency and commitment, the NDC government cannot achieve its goal of building a better Ghana and urged members of his government to be guided by the aforementioned in the discharge of their duties. He noted that, the NDC government inherited lots of challenges from the Kufuor-led NPP regime. He advised Ghanaians to be hard-working and discipline, adding that, the destiny of this nation is in the hands of Ghanaians. But in what can be termed as an act of betrayal or disowning his cronies in the NDCs factional struggle, President Mills said he has no faction, in the NDC and warned every member of the party, who claims to belong to an Atta Mills-faction to stop wasting his or her time, pointing out that, he has no interest in creating factions.
