Mills Witch-hunt In Top Gear!As AG Files 25 Counts Charges Against EO Minus Kosmos

The Witch-hunt has began! Inspite of clear and irrefutable evidence to the contrary, the stubborn cats in the Mills Administration are bent on pursuing the course of malicious prosecution with reckless abandon. Our sources at the Attorney-Generals Department, informed our roving scouts over the weekend, that the Attorney-General and her collaborators, including one Duke Amaniampong, and a former GNPC top shot (identity withheld for now), have opted, against sound legal advice, to file charges against the owners/directors of the EO Group and the latter, for allegedly violating the laws of the land in connection with their acquisition of a stake in the West Cape Three Points Block, (Jubilee Oil Fields). They know that investigations have proved that the charges have no basis and cannot stand the test of critical judicial scrutiny in a court of competent jurisdiction. They have been so advised by both their internal and external legal advisors and consultants (Minus Duke Amaniampong) but they are not interested in listening to wise counsel. They have decided to proceed to court but their case is weak and unsustainable. The charge of causing financial loss to a public body (GNPC) is patently flawed while the others are ridiculous and laughable. Mark our words, the courts would prove them wrong, intimated our sources at the AGs Department. Our sources noted the significance of the omission of Kosmos and any official of GNPC or Ministry of Energy or the Kufuor Administration on the charge sheet, and wondered how the owners/directors of the EO Group could on their own and by themselves have conspired to willfully cause over one billion and three hundred million United State dollars financial loss to a public body (GNPC) and the Republic (State) of Ghana for that matter without collaboration from people in the GNPC and the Ministry of Energy/Government of Ghana (GoG). THEY ALSO ADDED THAT THE OMISSION IS ALSO A LOUD DECLARATION BY THE POWERS-THAT-BE THAT THE JULY 22, 2004 PETROLEUM AGREEMENT AMONG KOSMOS, EO, GNPC, GHANA GOVERNMENT WAS ABOVE BOARD AND PROPERLY AND LAWFULLY EXECUTED. The owners and directors of the EO Group are mere scapegoats. After the futile search for evidence to link former President Kufuor and his men to the Kosmos/EO Group, something still had to be done, hence the targeting of George Owusu and Bawuah Edusei on charges like failure to hold General Annual Meetings and/or filing of Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheets and Reports among others. This is really pathetic and retrogressive, reflected a senior staff member of the AGs Department. Courtesy our AG Department sources, we publish the full text of the Charge Sheet under reference. Please read on and stay tuned for more exclusive exposures on the unfolding saga surrounding the unfolding Kosmos/EO/Exxon Mobil saga.
