Make Ghana Proud - MOYS

The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS), has urged Ghana's Black Queens and Black Maidens, to make Ghana proud in their respective continental adventures.

      The Black Maidens, are currently in Uruguay gearing up for the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup campaign, whilst the senior women's team, Black Queens are also gearing up for the 2018 Africa Women's Cup of Nations to be hosted by Ghana.

       In a statement signed by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Isaac Kwame Asiamah, it said, the Government of Ghana is fully behind the respective conquests and encouraged them to put up the best of performances in both competitions.

      ''It is the belief of the Ministry, that the Maidens would use such a glorious opportunity, not only to exhibit their rare talent, but more importantly, to showcase Ghana as a preferred sports destination,'' Mr Asiamah told the Black Maidens.

       To the Black Queens, Mr. Asiamah said, ''we are very hopeful that this year's competition would present the Queens, a bright chance to ride on the huge home support, prove their worth, take on a match each and put the icing on the hosting cake by doing their country and themselves”.

       The Youth and Sports Minister also rallied support for both teams, as he urged Ghanaian to fill the stadia for Queens to help boost their confidence in every match during the tournament.

       The Black Maidens kick start their World Cup campaign against host Uruguay on Tuesday, November 13, while the Black Queens face off against  Algeria on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
