I’ll Continue To Work For NDC; My Defeat Won’t Stop Me - Fred Agbenyo

NDC Stalwart, Fred Agbenyo says he will not be fazed by his defeat in the just-ended National Democratic Congress’ National Delegates Congress.

About 15,000 people, made up of 9,350 delegates and 5,650 observers, thronged the Accra International Trade Fair Centre to decide the fate of the 65 candidates vying for various positions.

At the end of balloting, some candidates came out looking happy while others felt disappointed and tearful for being defeated in the elections.

Fred Agbenyo, who was contesting the Communications Director position, lost the battle to his competitor Sammy Gyamfi.

Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo”, Mr. Agbenyo expressed his gratitude to the delegates and his voters for showing him love though he couldn’t wave the victory flag.

According to him, he will not back out of the NDC but continue to work for the party and uphold their agenda for the 2020 general elections.

He stated emphatically that his commitment and allegiance to ensure that the NDC come back to power remains intact.

"Four years ago...they voted for me. If they haven't voted for me today, I can only give thanks to them...I will continue to work for the party. I can't turn my back on the party", he said.
