LPGMCs, LPG Operators: The Exploding Desire to Betray The Nation

LPGMCs (Liquified Petroleum Gas Marketing Companies), LPGOs (Liquified Petroleum Gas operators), allegedly conniving Judiciary, and all those who defy authority to willfully endorse the murder of innocent Ghanaians, unfortunately, are the bane of the poor Ghanaian.

I liken them to Donald Trump, who does not care about the safety of the world, and would pull out of an international nuclear weapons anti-proliferations treaty just so he can bag a few billion US Dollars, whether for his own gains or that of his country, as alleged.

When the Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority, Lawyer Hassan Tampuli, discerned the grave consequences of the presence of Gas filling plants in densely populated neighbourhoods, he had the approval of cabinet to implement a Gas Cylinder Recirculation system, which meant that there would be bottling plants at specific locations away from inhabited areas. LPG operators would have a stock of filled cylinders that customers would just exchange their empty ones for. In this instance, the risk of explosions, deaths, destruction, and general dangerous nuisance would be curtailed.

But no, the greedy bastards would have nothing of that! They resorted to a legal tussle that seemed to be apathetic to the safety of the average Ghanaian many of whom make their livelihoods on the streets, either peddling stuff or selling food or hawking nomadically or fixing broken down vehicles or repairing car tyre punctures or or or!

The sad dilemma is in the allegation that even the justice of the court did not seem to take into consideration the safety of neighbourhoods and their inhabitants, some of whom may just well be their own family members. What legal considerations such a judge might have pondered over are somewhat perplexing to me because no matter the argument, considerations of nationalism, patriotism, and a general will to ensure safe surroundings, should have been the prima facie issues to decide against upsetting the decision of the government.

By this, I am only inclined to suspect that there was a rather more ominous political consideration that informed the rash decision to rule against the State! Would it not have been appropriate for the judge to have factored into his judgment the chaos that explosions would cause? That certainly was the consideration of the Justices of the Supreme Court who had to rule against the infamous election petition to avoid possible national chaos, knowing that Akufo-Addo and tiss other petitioners the Supreme Court who had to rule against the election petitiond cause? Thathe other petitioners had a winning case.

Did the judge mean to ridicule the government and leave it in a compromising position much like a naked person in a posture of relief being filmed by a charlatan for the purpose of disgrace and character assassination?

Further to that, the LPG Operators’ Association (LPGOA) also issued a writ at the Human Rights Court, seeking an injunction against the rolling out of the Cylinder Recirculation Model (CRM). The court with a more empathic approach to the salient issues, dismissed the injunction application. The LPGOA is appealing, hoping that a heartless judge would overrule the dismissal of the injunction.

I find solace in the fact that there are more “good” people in Ghana than “bad”! I take solace in the fact that when a door shuts close, the Merciful GOD opens numerous others! I seek solace in the hope that a seemingly undiscerning Judge’s ruling against the Cylinder Recirculation Module might well be overturned by a more clairvoyant and wise judge in favour of saving Ghanaian lives!

However, this sordid opposition to a better organised and safety conscious regulation of rolling out NPA’s Module leaves no one with any shred of doubt that the LPGMCs, LPGOs, and all those who support their mindsets do not have the nation at heart. They are nation wreckers, unpatriotic, hardly civilised, potential murderers, and self-seeking greedy gluttons with an insatiable appetite for more money and human chichinga!

In the wake of the Krofrom Gas station explosion in Kumasi, those who ruled, want to rule, and will consider ruling against the Cylinder Recirculation Module must bury their heads in shame. The blood that would inadvertently taint their hands will be a gory mark to answer to when their parasitic roles on this earth are done!
