Corrupt NDC Officials To Be Prosecuted Soon; 15 Dockets Ready – Kusi Boafo Hints

The Chief Executive Officer of the Public Sector Reform Secretariat, Mr. Thomas Kusi Boafo has disclosed that 15 dockets are ready to prosecute accused corrupt NDC officials of the erstwhile John Mahama administration.

According to him, the Akufo-Addo government cannot look on for such high level of corruption that was displayed under the former regime go unpunished.

He made this known in an interview with Henry Lord on Ejura Sekyedumase based Naagyei FM in the Ashanti Region while commenting on President Akufo-Addo’s claim that the NDC created, looted and shared state resources while in government.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo addressing the chiefs and people of Somanya during his Eastern Regional Tour on Thursday stressed that the NDC’s desperation to return to power is not motivated by any reason other than a desire to misuse Ghana’s resources for selfish gain.

“They, in their desperation to get to power, are prepared to say anything. Their purpose of coming back to power is to continue the programme of ‘Create, Loot and Share”.

“That programme is dead in Ghana. It will not happen again. That is not the programme the people of Ghana are looking for,” President Akufo-Addo said.

Mr Kusi Boafo however disclosed that the prosecutions will start soon, adding that failure to prosecute the corrupt National Democratic Congress (NDC) officials will spell doom for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 general election.

“You know that in order to have a successful prosecution you need to build strong evidence and I Kusi Boafo can tell you honestly that 15 dockets are ready. Prosecutions will start soon, these are high profile cases and the person giving evidence must be protected. Some of these past NDC officials to be prosecuted have fled the country and we’re going to haul them back into the country to face the law. They have high level intelligence about what is going to befall them. I know that if we [NPP] are not able to prosecute NDC officials, we’ll surely lose the 2020 elections and we won’t sit down for that to happen,” he stated.
